With some waders for a while....

Saludos!

Yesterday (18sep16) I had a good moment in a confortable afternoon at Zolina reservoir.

I saw eight different shorebird species including two Curlew Sandpipers , one of them juvenile.

This bird has been elusive for me this year during the spring migration (there were two sightings at the site) and I didn't expect to see them yesterday (last year I didn't see any here....)

I will write down the list of birds seen (it was a pitty that I didn't manage to relocate if they were still there three Turnstones seen the day before by Mikel, is a rare vagrant here!!).

List
Ruff 2
Little Stint 1
Dunlin 4
Curlew Sandpiper 2
Common Sandpiper 3
Greenshank 1
Ringed plover 10
Common Snipe 2

Ringed plover with rings!!

I has a very nice morning in Pitillas taht day of may 201.

Many shorebird had entered and I could manage to see a Ringed plover with a ring.

Also very noticeable the strong presence of various Sanderlings (10?).

A group of mixed birds.

Ringed plover and one Dunlin taking their time to land on the muddy flats.

Here some of the always intriging Dotterels in late summer 2013.

I went with Ricardo Rodriguez and it took us a wile to find them.

We tried some days before but we didn't have luck.

Shorebird in the arable fields....

This april 2012 is rainning so much that the normaly "dry"  wheatfields are full os water in some areas and the countryside can't absorb more liquid , so it's like a small flood wherever you go......

This makes a perfect chance for shorebird to linder in places were usually is imposible them to feed.

Those are some of the birdies I saw this wet morning
